BYG works hand in hand with the NHS

Working in close partnership with the NHS for the last 7 years, Nottingham-based BYG Systems has once again provided cost effective solutions to a variety of Departments, delivering on time and to budget, computer based, interactive information and learning resources.
Manual Handling
Nottingham Primary Healthcare Trust (NPHCT) now has a Manual Handling resource outlining the legislative responsibilities of employers and employees. Staff can tap into information which enables them to maintain their own personal safety by identifying hazardous techniques and ways in which these may be avoided. The solution includes a self-assessment questioning section, a workbook and a quiz.
Practice Nurse Induction
Restructuring in the NPHCT led to BYG being asked to develop a CD-ROM to be used as an induction package throughout the UK by Practice Nurses and as an information tool by GPs. The programme was developed using a set of reusable templates and includes video, voiceover and graphics.
Best Practice in Childcare
BYG, whose team includes personnel with considerable experience of working in the NHS, worked closely with North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust's behavioural psychologists to deliver a CD-ROM for parents on 'Best Practice in Childcare'. This was produced as a light-hearted and fun CD but with a serious underlying message to all parents
Child Protection
Again with children as a priority, BYG was tasked with providing Level 1 training in Child Protection based on the demands of the Children Act 1989, Working together under the Children Act 1991, and Working together to Safeguard Children 1999.
Says Joe Bennaton, Operations Director at BYG:
"This was a challenging brief and we have delivered a high quality interactive training programme using multimedia. I believe it is the only one of its kind on this subject matter. The result is that healthcare professionals and those concerned with child protection now have access to information which was simply not available before from a single source. The solution can help in the future training and development of healthcare professionals and, in turn, will increase their understanding of many of the problems which they face daily."

BYG's total solution includes consultancy, integration, hosting, maintenance and post-project support.
