Raytheon's ASTOR takes off with BYG Systems

Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) has just launched its ASTOR (Airborne Stand Off Radar) multimedia presentation. The presentation, developed by BYG Systems, will be used as both an education and sales tool which can be employed at exhibitions, presentations and as a 'give away' CD-Rom to clients and prospects.

As a long term supplier, BYG Systems was approached by RSL with a challenge. RSL wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of its ASTOR (Airborne Stand Off Radar) system, but the application was not ready.

The brief was to 'design a powerful communications tool that conceptualises what the ASTOR system will deliver to our clients, and by the way, the product is still in development!'

With the vision and concept lodged in the minds of the ASTOR Business and Production team, it was difficult to project a clear and concise interpretation of the ASTOR application. No stranger to tough challenges, BYG's e-marketing team rose to this one. The solution was based around a 3D-animated movie which visualised ASTOR in operation, complemented by an interactive presentation which divided the ASTOR system into its relevant components, and enhanced it through the use of music and sound effects. This dramatic visualisation of the ASTOR system included striking recreations of ground and air attacks.
