BMW dealership set to 'get into gear' with BYG e-learning
January, 2003
A new CD based e-learning solution from BYG Systems is to be rolled out to all sales executives at all 153 BMW dealerships nationwide in December 2002. The bespoke application will provide training to all customer facing staff on how to operate and effectively sell the 'SMG Drivelogic' - a manual gearbox with fully automated shift option - a unique feature of the BMW M3 model.
The e-learning combines high impact, interactive and visually engaging multimedia to ensure front line sales executives are equipped to deliver excellent customer service to new BMW M3 customers.
BYG's solution offered a cost effective and time saving addition to BMW's normal in-house training. The training CD compresses an abundance of knowledge on the SMG Drivelogic into a single application. Split into discrete modules for maximum concentration, the training firstly familiarises learners with how the SMG Drivelogic works, its features, functions, key benefits and safety functions.
Next, the 'Selling the SMG' module details how to qualify a customer, reinforces approved presentation techniques and pinpoints demonstrating the SMG Drivelogic successfully. An awareness of the BMW M3 is built into the application and highlights crucial selling points.
An energetic video sequence featuring the BMW M3 in action introduces the e-learning and showcases the rapid and precise gear changes of the SMG Drivelogic. A profusion of sound, movement and close up imagery reinforce the SMG Drivelogic's exceptional capabilities and captures learner's attention instantly.
To increase knowledge retention, a high quality simulation of the gear lever and SMG Drivelogic control is incorporated in the e-learning and sales executives can practise on the replica gearbox to change programmes. Exploring the features of the SMG Drivelogic is an easy and enjoyable experience, as a mock up of the BMW M3 cock pit with roll over mechanisms highlights the major elements of the SMG Drivelogic.
Additionally, the multimedia application includes an easy to follow guide of how to operate the SMG Drivelogic when starting up, driving away and stopping. Highly visual video replays accentuate advice given and offer practical demonstrations of BMW M3 drivers using the SMG Drivelogic.
Product knowledge is supported with striking images of the BMW M3. Crucial selling points are pin pointed and a comprehensive but succinct question and answer section deals with effective selling and handover.
This flexible e-learning package is designed to accommodate both beginner and advanced users. Learners can opt for the 'training mode' and cover the entire training or 'browser mode' to refresh learning as and when required.
